For Marination:
- 500g boneless chicken thigh
- 2 tbsp buttermilk
- 1 tsp red food colouring
- 1 tbsp crushed red chilli (heaped)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp crushed black pepper (heaped)
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tbsp red chilli powder (heaped)
- 1 & 1/2 tsp paprika powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder (heaped)
For Coating:
- 1 cup plain flour (heaped)
- 1 tsp red chilli powder (heaped)
- 1 tsp salt
Other Ingredients:
- Cold water
- Oil for frying
- Lettuce
- Burger buns
- Mayonnaise
1. In a bowl, combine all ingredients for marination. Mix well and set aside for 1 hour.
2. In another bowl, mix the ingredients for coating.
3. Take each piece of chicken and coat it with the flour mixture, then dip it in water, and coat it again with the flour mixture. Set aside.
4. Heat oil in a frying pan.
5. Fry the coated chicken pieces in hot oil for a minute or two on high flame, then reduce the flame to medium and fry until golden brown.
6. Warm the burger buns.
7. Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise on the buns, followed by lettuce, fried chicken, ketchup, and cheese. Top with the other half of the bun.
8. Serve hot with fries and cold drinks.
