Ingerdients:
Tomato Sauce:
1: whole tomato cans 3 (each can 800g)
2: onion 1 large, chopped finely
3: oil 1/2 cup
4: garlic crushed 1 tbs
5: crushed red chilli 1tbs, heaped
6: sugar 4tbs
7: oregano 1 tsp
8: salt 1 tsp
For Meatballs:
1: mince 1kg
2: onion 1 large, finely chopped
3: oil 1/2 cup
4: garlic 1tbs heaped finely chopped
5: bread slice 11/2 large
6: whole milk 1/2 cup
7: eggs 1
8: parmesan cheese 1/2 cup
9: dry parsley 1 tsp heaped
10:dry oregano 1 tsp heaped
11:lemon zest grated 1 tsp
12:black pepper crushed 1tbs
13:salt 1 tsp
For Pasta:
1: spaghetti 600g (boiled with salt 1 tbs and drained, add 4 to 5 tbs oil so that they do not stick together).
Recipe:
1: boil the spaghetti with 1tbs salt (boil as the packet instructs), then drain under cold water and add oil 4 to 5 tbs and shake it about this will help it not sticking.
Meatballs:
1: heat oil and cook the onions till gets soft, then add the garlic and cook for further 4 minutes on medium, remove it and place in a bowl to cool down.
2: soak bread in the milk till gets soft, then squeeze bread and discard the milk.
3: in a large bowl mix the softened onion mix, bread, egg, parmesan, parsley, oregano, lemon zest, salt, black pepper, garlic,mince mix well till well combined.
4: make the balls the size you like, heat the oil and fry them till brown all around and no liquid is oozing, place them on paper towel to drain the extra oil.
Sauce:
1: mash the tomatoes.
2: heat the oil and cook the onions till gets soft on medium flame then add garlic and cook for 2 minutes.
3: add the tomatoes, salt, oregano, crushed red chilli, sugar and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes on low to medium flame.(make the sauce a little thick)
4: now add the meatballs and simmer for further 5 minutes, and add the spaghetti mix well.
5: serve hot with extra cheese of your choice and enjoy.
