
Cornflake Chicken Burger
Ingredients
For Marination:
- 5 boneless chicken thighs
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tsp paprika powder
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp mustard powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp salt
For Coating:
- 2 & 1/2 cups cornflakes (grind)
- 1 heaped cup of plain flour
- 1 egg (or as many as required)
Other Ingredients:
- Oil for frying
- Burger buns
- Lettuce
- Onions
- Cheese slices
For Sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 4 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 3 tbsp sriracha sauce
Instructions
- 1. In a bowl, combine all ingredients listed under marination, mix well, and set aside for 30 minutes. - 2. Grind the cornflakes. - 3. Take each chicken thigh, coat it with plain flour, dip in egg, coat in the ground cornflakes, and set aside. - 4. Heat oil in a frying pan. - 5. Fry the coated chicken in the hot oil over medium flame until golden brown and cooked through about 6 to 7 minutes. Once fried, place on paper towels to remove excess oil. - 6. In a separate bowl, mix all ingredients listed under sauce, and set aside for later use. - 7. Warm the burger buns. - 8. To assemble the burgers, spread the prepared sauce on the buns, and add lettuce, onions, fried chicken, and cheese slices. Cover with the bun tops. - 9. Serve hot with fries and cold drinks.
