For Brownie:
1: 140g dark chocolate (broken into pieces)
2: 50g salted butter
3: 1/4 cup brown sugar
4: 1 Egg
5: 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
For Butter Cake:
1: 120g salted butter
2: 1/2 cup sugar
3: 2 Eggs
4: 1 cup all-purpose flour
5: 1/4 tsp baking powder
6: 60ml fresh milk
7: vanilla essences 1 tsp
1: grease and line a 10cm x 20cm (4◊8-in) loaf pan with aluminium foil.
2: preheat oven to 180C, 350F, gas mark 4.
3: to make brownie: melt chocolate and butter over low heat. Remove and stir in brown sugar until blended.
4: add in egg, mix well. Fold in flour, mix until well combined. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes and remove from the oven.
5: now lower the oven to 160C, 320F, gas mark 3.
6: to make butter cake: beat butter with sugar until creamy. Add in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
7: fold in sifted flour and baking powder, alternately add in fresh milk, vanilla essences mix to form batter.
8: Spread the butter cake batter over brownie, bake for 25-30 minutes or until cooked. Insert a cake tester in the middle to check doneness.
9: wait to cool it and serve.
