1: potatoes 1/2 kg (pealed)
2: tomatoes 1/2 kg (cut in half)
3: water 2 glass
4: turmeric tsp
5: curry leaves 6
6: nigella seeds 1 tsp
7: salt 1 & 1/2 tsp
8: red chill powder 1 & 1/2 tsp
9: ginger & garlic paste 1 tbsp
10: green chilli 2
11: tamarind pulp 1/2 cup
For Tempering:
1: clarified butter 3 & 1/2 tbsp
2: cumin seeds 1 tsp
3: fenugreek seeds 1/4 tsp
4: dry red chilli 6
5: curry leaves 5
1: in a pot add the potatoes, tomatoes, water, turmeric, curry leaves, nigella seeds, salt, red chilli powder, ginger & garlic paste mix cover and cook till the potatoes are tender, then leave it to cool.
2: now add the potato mixture in a blender add green chilli, tamarind pulp and grind to a smooth paste.
3: transfer the grind mixture in a pot and place it on the stove, add water 1/2 cup mix and cook on low flame for 10 minutes.
4: n a frying pan melt clarified butter add cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, dry red chilli, curry leaves and fry for a minute or to on medium to high flame and add this on the potato mixture.
5: serve hot with boiled rice, roti.
