1: 500g Haricot Beans (or) navy beans (or) cannellini beans (soaked over night & boiled)
2: 2 tbsp Oil
3: 1 Onion medium (chopped)
4: 1 tsp salt
5: 1 tsp mixed herbs
6: 1/2 tsp black pepper
7: 1 tsp paprika powder
8: 1 can chopped tomatoes
9: 2 tbsp brown sugar
10: 2 cups Tomato Paste
1: Place the dried beans in to a large bowl and completely cover with water and leave it for 8 hours, then boil it till tender.
2: heat oil add onions, salt, mixed herbs, black pepper and paprika and give it all a quick mix through.
3: pour in the canned tomato, add the sugar and tomato sauce, stir everything together.
4: drain most of the water from the boiled beans add it to the tomato sauce, cover the pan and gently cook the beans for 30 minutes on low flame.
5: then turn off the heat and allow the beans to completely cool down.
6: when the beans are cooled transfer them into sterilised jars or mason jars and store the beans in the fridge.
7: serve it on toast or with fried eggs, my homemade Sausages.
NOTE: to make a bbq flavour add bbq sauce and mix it.
