For Sugar Syrup:
- 2 cups Water
- 2 cups Sugar
- 2-3 tbsp Lemon Juice
To Make Gulab Jamun:
- 1 cup Milk Powder (full fat)
- 1/4 cup Flour
- 1/2 cup Ricotta Cheese
- 2-3 tbsp Clarified Butter (melted)
- 2-3 tsp Rose Water
- Pinch of Salt
- 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
- 10-15 Pistachios (chopped)
- 10-15 Almonds (chopped)
1. Prepare the Sugar Syrup:
- In a pan, combine 2 cups of water, 2 cups of sugar, and 2-3 tablespoons of lemon juice to make a sugar syrup. Set it aside.
2. Make the Gulab Jamun Dough:
- In a bowl, mix 1 cup of milk powder, 1/4 cup of flour, a pinch of salt, 1/2 tsp of baking soda, and 2-3 tablespoons of melted clarified butter.
- Blend the ingredients thoroughly with your hands.
- Add 1/2 cup of ricotta cheese to the mixture and knead the dough well. Cover the dough with a cloth and set it aside for 10-15 minutes.
3. Shape and Fry the Gulab Jamun:
- After resting, shape the dough into small balls.
- Deep fry the balls in oil on low to medium heat for about 6-7 minutes or until they turn a dark brown color. Make sure they cook evenly.
4. Soak in Sugar Syrup:
- Heat the prepared sugar syrup and add 2-3 teaspoons of rose water to it.
- Transfer the fried Gulab Jamun into the sugar syrup and let them soak for about an hour, allowing the sweet syrup to penetrate the dumplings.
5. Garnish and Chill:
- Garnish your Gulab Jamun with chopped almonds and pistachios.
- Refrigerate the Gulab Jamun for an additional hour to enhance the flavors.
6. Serve and Enjoy:
